After more than 30 years of running Muolo’s Market in Cambridge, the Muolo family relocated to Stoneham in 1973 and established Stoneham Sports Center. The brothers—Frank, Bill, and Michael—opened the store and ran it with their father, Frank.
For the past 41 years, Stoneham Sports Center has been owned and managed by the same brothers in Stoneham Square. We provide high quality sports equipment, uniforms, and apparel to athletes in Stoneham, Woburn, Reading, Melrose, Malden, Beverly Hills, and around the world.
Since 1975 we have been the official supplier of Stoneham Youth Hockey equipment and clothing. Stoneham Sports Center offers custom printed and embroidered apparel in a variety of colors and styles, in addition to custom window decals for kids and families to show their pride on their car and home windows. Decals are available in a wide range of sports, music, games, activities, and interests and can include a title of a program or activity along with the child’s name. We also provide a variety of corporate needs including vinyl signs, silk screened and embroidered uniforms, and advertising giveaways.
With the recent economic downturn and threats of cuts to extracurricular activities, funding for sports programs, art programs, music programs, and other programs critical to the development of our youngsters is in jeopardy. After speaking against funding cuts for athletic and music programs in Stoneham on WHDH-TV news, Bill Muolo began discussing ways in which the Sports Center can help school systems, sporting leagues, and other programs with his brothers and other interested people.
Our partner program was born out of these discussions. We make it easy for everyone to run a fund raising program by selling custom clothing, decals, and other products. Stoneham Sports Center handles the marketing, administration, sales, and fulfillment of custom products bearing the name or logo of the partner’s program. There is no monetary investment by the partner. Stoneham Sports Center designs and builds a custom product catalog page for each partner. The only requirements are that the partners maintain a link to their catalog page prominently on the program’s web site, and that the partners assist Stoneham Sports Center in marketing the catalog to their participants, parents, friends and supporters. Our marketing programs fit in with what the partner is already doing—email blasts, periodic newsletters, brochures, and flyers. Partners may sign up for a one-time fund raising effort for a specified period of time, or may choose to run the fund raising program in perpetuity, making the catalog live year round.
